Strategic alliances in Chiriquí in preparation for the "Connecting Education and Employment 2026" forum“

During a recent work session in David, Chiriquí province, UMECIT held a series of meetings with key actors from the public and private sectors, with the aim of coordinating efforts for the "Connecting Education and Employment 2026: Talent, Opportunity and Science" discussion, scheduled for April 28.

During this agenda, a meeting was held with the Regional Director of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Ms. Melani Castillo, who will provide support in linking companies, strengthening the participation of the productive sector in this important space.

A visit was also made to the Municipality of Boquerón, where Mayor Jessenka Espinoza offered an institutional tour that allowed participants to learn about local initiatives and identify opportunities for collaboration. During this meeting, a courtesy meeting was arranged for the Municipal Council, scheduled for Friday, April 10, where UMECIT will present its projects and initiatives to representatives from the districts, with the active participation of the team from the David campus.

As part of this day, a meeting was also held with the company Bagatrac SA, in which opportunities for the development of professional practices and the participation of students and graduates in social engagement activities with an environmental focus were discussed.

Similarly, conversations were held with the administrator of the Municipality of David, Mr. Fernando Narro, with whom joint actions were coordinated, such as the dissemination of research results in the Los Zambranos community and the promotion of the "Golden Age" project in the region.

These efforts strengthen inter-institutional collaboration and move towards the formalization of cooperation agreements. Furthermore, the stakeholders involved will participate in the working groups of the dialogue forum, fostering a space for dialogue and collective development focused on territorial development in the province of Chiriquí.
