Strategic alliance for community and educational development with the Omar Torrijos Communal Board

On January 15, the signing of the Framework Agreement for Cooperation between the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- and the Communal Board of Omar Torrijos, consolidating an alliance aimed at promoting education, entrepreneurship and sustainable development for the benefit of the community.

The event, held at Fundadores headquarters, was attended by key representatives of both institutions. On behalf of UMECIT, the following were present:

  • Dr. Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas, Rector of UMECIT
  • Master Rosa Castaneda, Legal Advisor
  • Master Andrea Pinzon Castaneda, Coordinator of Agreements and Internationalization
  • Ms. Jannis Briceño, Wellness Coordinator

On behalf of the Communal Board of Omar Torrijos, the following attended: Oscar Gutierrez Vargas, representative of the Communal Board, together with his work team.

 

Dr. Jose Alberto Nieto Rojas, Rector of UMECIT, said during his speech: "This alliance is a demonstration of our University's commitment to society. Through this agreement, we will work together to generate effective and lasting solutions that positively impact people's lives."

 

Likewise, the Oscar Gutierrez Vargas highlighted: «Collaboration with UMECIT opens a path of opportunities for our community. This agreement will allow us to develop projects that increase well-being, promote education and strengthen the social fabric.»

Main objectives of the agreement:

  1. Continuing education: Offer courses and workshops for the personal and professional development of the community.
  2. Social impact projects: Implement joint initiatives to address local needs and promote equity.
  3. Innovation and entrepreneurship: Create spaces that foster innovative ideas and projects
