Community Engagement Activity “Stage of Wisdom”

UMECIT, La Chorrera branch, participated in the Social Outreach Activity called “Stage of Wisdom”Organized by the National Directorate for the Elderly of the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES), this initiative, developed within the framework of the Extension Coordination, aimed to strengthen educational, integration, and social spaces for older adults.

On this occasion, UMECIT was invited as an allied institution to share the experiences and progress of Social Engagement Program “Golden Age”, whose participants —senior ladies who completed the courses— attended with the aim of learning, interacting and socializing with other organizations present at the event.

The Master Alexis Del CidThe Extension Coordinator at the La Chorrera campus highlighted the importance of this program for the university, emphasizing the work carried out with the support of a team of volunteers from partner institutions, as well as faculty, students, and graduates committed to community service. He also emphasized UMECIT's institutional strength as knowledge multipliercontributing to the growth and learning of older adults.
