Career Description
The training is designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out projects related to the implementation of technological systems within organizations, an activity that will allow them to adapt available innovations and respond to specific problems and needs. It seeks, therefore, to train experts in computer systems with critical thinking, innovation and values.
The graduate of the Master’s Degree in Computer Systems You can carry out your work activity in different sectors such as:
- Technology: modeling and creating security systems based on the needs of customers using CISCO protocols.
- Research: development of security programs and policies in cybersociety. Also apply knowledge about robotics in innovative designs.
- Advice and Consultancy: construction of information networks that lead to integral solutions.
- Enterprise: orientation to micro and medium-sized companies on network and data management. Management levels in development departments in companies with technological focus.
Admission requirements for the Master’s Degree in Computer Systems with emphasis in Networks and Communications:
- Hold a professional degree, bachelor's degree or its equivalent issued by a duly recognized institution.
- To have a minimum cumulative academic index of 1.5 in the bachelor's degree.
- Fill out the application form to join the program.
- Photocopy of identity card.
- Certificate of physical health.
- Photocopies of the corresponding Diploma (apostilled foreigners).
- Certificate of grades corresponding to the professional career (apostilled foreign credits).
- Two photographs.
- Application letter
- Resume.
The permanence in the Master’s Degree in Computer Systems with emphasis in Networks and Communications will depend solely and exclusively on the student. On the motivation, capacity and vision to obtain the chosen academic degree.
The term of permanence at UMECIT in Panama will be a minimum of five (5) quarters.
The student must maintain a minimum academic index of 2.0 and/or a minimum grade of 81 (B).
Additionally, the student must:
- Study in teams and on your own.
- Do research in the areas you handle.
- Deepen in the knowledge that he/she needs or is interested in.
- Respect the Disciplinary Regulations of the University.
- Keeping your payments up to date.
- Have an ethical and respectful conduct in the representations of the institution.
To graduate from the Master’s Degree in Computer Systems with emphasis in Networks and Communications is required:
- Satisfactorily pass all the subjects of the Master's curriculum.
- Have a cumulative academic index of not less than one (2.0), on a scale of three (3).
- Financial clearance.
- Elaborate and present before a jury the thesis, which must be elaborated according to the research lines of the University.
- Comply with the academic and administrative requirements, in a term that does not exceed four years of permanence in the program.
- Submit an exam or certificate of a second language recognized by UNESCO, updated (five years).

- Apply security standards for voice, data and video networks.
- Plan the company's network and communications platform.
- Design local and wide area networks, offering connectivity solutions.
- Apply information security norms and standards in the design and implementation of networks and network services.
- Integrate broadband network technologies with optimal use of resources.
- Lead and manage telecommunications projects, innovating and aligning technologies to the companies' business strategies.
