Career Description

  

All applicants must present the following documentation completed and/or duly scanned from its original:

  • Electronic admission form.
  • Current passport size photo.
  • Identification document. (Passport in the case of foreigners residing in Panama).
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent with an index higher than 1.5.
  • Bachelor's degree credits or grades or their equivalent.

 If you are a foreigner, the aforementioned documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your respective country. (In the event that the country does not have a consulate, you must carry out the procedure with the official authorities that validate it), and its translation into Spanish.

Note: Students enrolled in virtual modality whose nationality is different from Panamanian, must present a copy of their personal identity document from the country of origin.

The permanence in the University will depend on the student's motivation, capacity and vision to obtain the chosen degree.

Given the profile of the University's Cyberhumanist Curricular Educational Model, the student must: 

  • Study in teams and individually.
  • Develop research skills based on discovery learning.
  • Deepen in the disciplinary knowledge that is of interest to them. 
  • Respect and comply with the regulations established by the statutes that regulate the relationship between the University and the students.
  • Be up to date with their monthly payments.
  • Attend at least 80% of the meetings under the face-to-face modality.
  • For studies under the virtual modality, attendance is regulated by constant interaction in all activities planned on the platform, including synchronous and asynchronous meetings, as well as the development of the student's autonomous work.
  • In case of prolonged absence, the student must present a justified argumentation. 
  • All students of the Specialization programs must have basic computer skills.
  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).
  • Pass each subject with a minimum grade of 81 on a scale of 1 to 100 which is equivalent to B.

To obtain the Teaching Title, the following are required:

  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).
  1. Second language recognized by UNESCO 
  • Take a certification exam of a second language recognized by UNESCO, in accordance with internal regulations.
  1. Note 
  • Complete and pass all the subjects of the curriculum with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B. 
  • Final work: Teaching simulation practice. Prepare, support and approve the degree work.
  • Complete and pass all the academic content of the program enrolled. 
  • Be in good standing with the institution (financial, academic, and library).


Knowing:

  • You will know the theoretical foundations of educational science with the purpose of being able to apply the theory to learning to address the different needs required by the entire educational community. 
  • You will have mastery of the theoretical foundations linked to secondary education education and administration that will allow you to be efficient and effective in the classroom or in any position that requires your skills as an administrator.
  • You will master the curricular theory that, together with your specialty, will allow you to harmonize academic rigor and flexibility so that your personal growth is combined with your commitment to the students you will have to train and that is in accordance with your time, your environment and with the construction from the future.
  • You will have knowledge of the fundamental theories regarding the growth of children and adolescents, which will allow you to place your teachings in the time and space appropriate to each age and the environment in which they are handled.
  • You will master the history of the phases of general didactics, which will allow you to link it to the provisional nature of knowledge, to be the spearhead in continuous improvement.
  • It will analyze and identify the reality of the social environment where the School Center is located, so that they are compatible with its didactic planning in the classroom.
  • You will understand language as an effective instrument for the development of thinking, which allows you to communicate in an appropriate manner appropriate to the environment and age of the students. 
  • You will be updated on the scope of the scientific and technological advances that characterize the current era, which allow you to master the learning strategies and resources according to the subject, the age of the students and the environment in which they are handled.

 Doing 

  • You will use and apply pedagogical techniques, methods and strategies that facilitate the development of students' learning potential by addressing their needs. 
  • It will put into practice active methodologies in the development of teaching-learning processes.
  • Will apply the knowledge of didactics in the teaching act; trying in each class to achieve the proposed objectives according to the topic to be developed according to the subject being taught.
  • He will reflect and investigate permanently, to better understand and interpret the world around him, and so that this knowledge is applied in his teaching practice with students, with his workplace and his colleagues.
  • It will implement extension, which is one of the elements of education, as necessary spaces both in initial training and at the level of the role of educator of educators.
  • You will put into practice skills, abilities and attitudes to work in leading groups, with all the elements of educational theory, pedagogy and curricular theory.
  • You will acquire knowledge autonomously and permanently from an interdisciplinary attitude of openness to the knowledge of other disciplines, recognizing the complexity of knowledge; the linguistic skills that allow you to express yourself, argue, and produce written or oral text appropriately.
  • You will work as a team and in collaboration with the institutional project based on the relevant integration in the various dimensions of any educational institution (organizational, administrative, pedagogical, community).
  • You will implement study techniques consistent with reflective learning in your role as an educator.
  • It will generate significant didactic processes (didactic contextualization that can be evidenced by the coherence in a given time frame (the class) between what your educator project implies and the discursive plot that you generate in the classroom: in what is said and what is acted, the texts that it produces oral or written, the strategies that it proposes, the temporal logic that it uses, the work proposals that it integrates as part of the teaching and learning processes.

  • Shows ability to work in an international context with academic peers, parents, managers and students.
  • It proposes curricular adjustments to achieve the inclusion of people with visible and non-visible differences, as well as respect for diversity.

  • You will handle conflictive situations with students, administrators, parents, among others.
  • Will be able to analyze, reason, justify facts and elaborate arguments to become a free being, able to learn by himself.
  • Answer questions and situations in daily and professional life.
  • They will manifest a marked sense of solidarity and equity in their patterns of behavior and relationship with the people who make up the educational environment.
  • You will show understanding, sympathy, courtesy and interest for others and for other people.
  • You will have a clear perception of the impact that new knowledge generates on students and its role as a multiplying agent of good practices.

  • Considers the possibility of applying his or her knowledge to undertake activities on his or her own.
