Career Description
The graduate of the Master in Project Management will be able to manage increasingly scarce resources, in more complex work environments without losing sight of the creation of value, the reduction of time, agility and reliability, skills that will consequently allow them to develop fundamental faculties such as the capacity for analysis, organization or teamwork, leadership and negotiation skills.
Graduates from the Master's in Project Management will be able to perform efficiently at the national or international level in areas such as:
- Research: in the management of innovative projects, using modern methodologies and frameworks, as well as the development of new services and standards, assessing risks and the scope of actions.
- Advice and Consultancy: in the construction of projects with a high innovative profile, applicable to a multitude of business sectors and based on information and communication technology.
- Enterprise: Be promoters of change in business models, people management and organizational culture. Improve the competitiveness and productivity of organizations through the application of agile methodologies and highly efficient work environments. Guide micro and medium-sized companies on network management and identify risks within projects.
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree credits or grades or their equivalent.
- Identity document (passport in case of foreigners residing in Panama).
- A current passport-size photo.
- Fill out the admission form in electronic format with the promoter.
- Study in teams and individually.
- Develop research skills based on discovery learning.
- Deepen in the disciplinary knowledge that is of interest to them.
- Respect and comply with the regulations established by the statutes that regulate the relationship between the University and the students.
- Be up to date with their monthly payments.
- Attend at least 80% of the meetings in the semi face-to-face modality.
- For studies under the virtual modality, attendance is regulated by constant interaction in all activities planned on the platform, including synchronous and asynchronous meetings, as well as the development of the student's autonomous work.
- In case of prolonged absence, the student must present a justified argumentation.
- All students of the Specialization programs must have basic computer skills.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative index of 2 on a scale of 1 to 3.
- Pass each subject with a minimum grade of 81 on a scale of 1 to 100 which is equivalent to B.
- Take and pass all the subjects of the study plan with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of no less than two (2.00) on a scale of three (3.00).
- Take a certification exam of a second language recognized by UNESCO, a minimum of 40 hours. In case of not having the above, the university offers courses in English or another language, for which the respective course will be paid.
- Submit computer certificate, minimum of 40 hours. In case of not having the above, the university offers courses, for which the respective course will be paid.
- Present and approve the degree work in accordance with the provisions of the manual for presenting degree works and professional practices of Umecit.
- Be in good standing with the institution (financial, academic, and library).
- Take and pass all the subjects of the study plan with a minimum grade of 81 points equivalent to a B. Take and pass all the academic contents of the enrolled program.

- Understand the fundamental aspects of budgeting and expense control in the projects for which they are responsible to guarantee the return on investment with a minimum of risks.
- Associate the elements related to project management for a successful administration of costs, risks and quality.
- Analyze the different situations that arise in projects to mitigate risk and motivate the project team to meet the project scope.
- Evaluate the different situations that arise in the projects to make the right decisions.
- Identify aspects related to the formulation, evaluation, management of projects, programs and portfolios, to optimize resources, reduce investment uncertainty and contribute to economic success.
- Direct organizations to achieve competitive advantages in the development and qualitative improvement of processes, the optimal use of their resources and the advice demanded by emerging strategies.
- Formulate, evaluate and direct projects, programs and portfolios to optimize resources, reduce investment uncertainty and contribute to economic success.
- Design and apply tools for the financial administration of companies and for the analysis of investment projects.
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and advise the activities carried out in your area of responsibility.
- Participate in the formulation, planning and execution of regional and national projects, programs and portfolios.
- Establish quality control systems for projects and appropriate practices for environmental conservation.
- Participate in the establishment of standards, methods and work procedures for the development of investment projects.
- Collaborate in the technical organization in order to support the decisions that must be adopted by the management levels and corresponding authorities.
- Have a business mentality tending to generate productive profits that contribute to the development of the region and the country.
- Identify the problems and deficiencies of the national tourism activity, presents alternatives to improve them, and takes advantage of the opportunities for the progress of this important sector of the national economy.
- Competent in your training in project development considering the positive impact it can generate to humanity.
- Elaborate a holistic view of the complex relationships between society, business and the environment based on the concept of project management with corporate social responsibility.
- Stimulate the implementation of processes of the total quality model applicable to the management of projects in the company.
