The Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, attached to the Faculty of Technology, Construction and Environment, will allow the development of skills in the professional to capture and transmit graphically from the simplest to the most complex concepts in a creative way. The graphic designer is the person who interprets, orders and produces visual messages and is capable of organizing, projecting, coordinating and selecting visual elements to transmit messages supported by technological design tools.
The competencies developed by the professional of the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design include knowledge in drawing, creativity, advertising, marketing, general graphic design and software tools for graphic design, drawing and animation.
Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design will have a wide range of job development that involves commercial, industrial, manufacturing, trade, governmental and non-profit organizations where the promotion and dissemination of graphic or digital material is developed.
The Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design is also complemented by areas such as mathematics, geometric, artistic, photographic, linguistic, cultural expressions, among others that strengthen the integral formation of the professional of this career.
The bachelor's degree in graphic design allows students to acquire skills to transmit concepts graphically in a creative way. Thus, its labor field will be attached to interpret, order, and produce visual messages through technological design tools, having a broad spectrum of employment in both the public and private sector and as an independent professional:
Public and private sector:
- Creative Manager
- Brand Developer or Web and digital media designer.
- Designer specialized in digital photography retouching
- Digital Illustrator or Designer of audiovisual productions and multimedia environments.
- 3D animator and modeler
- Design and art direction
Advertising and corporate image as a freelancer:
- Photography
- Web, graphic, or mobile designs
- Corporate image design
- Printing, stationery, and imaging
- Logo Design
- Original and copy (collation) of high school diploma and credits approved by MEDUCA or its equivalent (in case of being a foreigner, the documents must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country and have the endorsement of the Ministry of Education of Panama).
- Two photocopies of the identity card, in case of being a minor, birth certificate (in case of being a foreigner, passport). Two passport-size photographs.
- Certificate of good health.
- Hold an interview with the selection team.
- Fill out the application form for admission to the program.
The permanence in the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design at the University will depend solely and exclusively on the student's motivation, ability and vision to obtain the chosen academic degree.
- Taking into account that their general average or cumulative index in their career cannot be less than 71, based on a maximum score of 100.
- In order to pass each subject, the participant must obtain a grade of no less than C and maintain an academic index of no less than 1.00. (Scale from 0 to 3.00).
- No student will be able to continue in the course if he/she has a four-month cumulative index lower than 1.00.
To obtain the title of Graphic Design Technician the following is required:
- Pass all subjects in the study plan with a minimum grade of C or 71 points.
- Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than one (1.0) on a scale of one to three.
- Maintain an average equal to or higher than 71 and have no subjects lower than 71.
- Participate in the specialization or diploma seminar.
- Be in good standing with the institution.
- Approve the subjects of English and computer science.
- Pass all the subjects contemplated in the study plan.
- Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than one (1.0) on a scale of one to three.
- Maintain an average higher than 71 and have no subjects lower than 71.
- Satisfactorily complete the supervised professional internship.
- Elaborate and support the professional practice report.
- Approval of English and computer science.
- Complete and approve one of the following requirements:
- Elaborate, support and approve a project (degree project) in their area of knowledge.
- Enroll and take the first four-month period of a specialized or diploma course related to their career.
- Submit and pass a general knowledge test.
- Be in good standing with the institution.

- Will exercise any position within companies dedicated to these disciplines, such as: draftsman, designer, sketcher, creative, layout artist, printer, photographer, consultant, facilitator, cameraman, producer, event organizer, or others.
- Analyze the needs of the local and international market, taking into account the type of product to be promoted and the different target groups of consumers to which the advertisement or campaign is directed.
- Handle computer tools, as well as traditional means of image transmission.
- Produce and/or facilitate training programs within the field of study. Create designs that make possible the artistic expression of their creativity or the consumer's and/or user's demands, through the use of state-of-the-art technologies.
- Handle both conventional techniques and digital graphic arts, such as modeling and illustration programs (graphic software), applying techniques, combinations and digital image processing.
- Design and produce television and radio commercials with efficiency and good performance, adding state-of-the-art technical knowledge.

- Will give value to and identify products and messages, give them personality and allow the transmission of messages through aesthetic sensibility, taste and emotionality.
- Contribute their creativity in the different stages of the ideation process and materialization of a production based on codes of rationality, conceptuality and professional ethics.

- Select the appropriate software for the filming of the original.
