Upon entering the world of preschool education, our students are immersed in all kinds of modern and avant-garde concepts in areas such as: education in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Musical Education, establishing our position as high-level pedagogical trainers.

The labor application of the Bachelor's Degree in Preschool Education ranges from initial basic education in early childhood educational centers, to scientific and investigative application directed towards special educational needs during the first years of training. The comprehensive knowledge acquired during the development of this career allows our students to position themselves competitively in a globalized and interconnected labor market in constant evolution, resulting in professional educators with human quality, capable of adapting to the challenges and opportunities of contemporary childhood.

All applicants must submit the following documentation duly scanned from the original and sent to the promoter to be uploaded to the respective platform:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • High school credits or grades or their equivalent
  • Identity document: ID or passport in the case of foreigners and residing in Panama during their studies. (In case the student is a minor, the youth ID card and the identity document of his guardian.)
  • A passport size photo.
  • Fill out the admission form in electronic format with the promoter.
  • If you are a foreigner, documents such as your high school diploma or its equivalent, high school credits or grades or its equivalent must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your respective country. In the event that the country does not have a consulate, it must carry out the procedure with the official authorities that validate it and have the endorsement of MEDUCA.

Note: Students enrolled in virtual mode, whose nationality is different from Panamanian, must present a copy of their personal identification document from the country of origin (cédula).

Applicants to enter the Technician and Bachelor's Degree in Preschool offered by the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology "UMECIT", must meet the following requirements:

  • Submit the respective admission exam and be accepted.
  • Bachelor's degree in any specialty.
  • Two passport size photos.
  • Photocopy of the Identification Card (Birth Certificate or Passport in case of being a foreigner).
  • Registration form.
  • Certificate of good physical and mental health.
  • Payment of registration fees.

Given the profile of the curricular educational model "CYBERHUMANIST" of the University, the student must:

  • The permanence in the University will depend solely and exclusively on the student's motivation, capacity and vision to obtain the chosen academic degree.
  • In order to pass each subject, the participant must obtain a minimum grade of 71 on a scale of 1 to 100, which is equivalent to item C.
  • Respect and comply with the regulations established by the statutes that regulate the relationships between the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology and the students of the institution, taking into account principles and values of the human being.
  • Keep payments up to date.
  • Attend at least 80% of scheduled meetings in face-to-face and semi face-to-face mode. In case of prolonged absence, you must duly present the argumentation that justifies it.
  • For studies under the virtual modality, attendance is regulated by constant interaction in all activities planned on the platform, including synchronous and asynchronous meetings, as well as the development of the student's autonomous work.
  • The student is responsible for the construction of their knowledge, willingness to work and collaborative learning, study in a team on their own, investigate, be self-taught and contribute to self-knowledge and self-motivation.
  • For those students who lose academic continuity (i.e. defer or withdraw) and wish to continue their studies or did not fulfill their degree requirement, they must apply for reinstatement to the current program approved by CTDA and must comply with the validation and homologation regulations.
  • The term of permanence at the University will be in accordance with the number of quarters that make up the academic program.
  • The student in cases of force majeure or fortuitous event must submit to the contingency plans or document that takes its place.

To obtain the title of Technician is required:

  • Take and pass all the subjects of the study plan with a minimum grade of 71 points equivalent to a C.
  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than one (1.0) on a scale of one to three (1 to 3).
  • Prepare, present, support the report of the Experiential Learning A (practice) subject, corresponding to 128 hours.
  • Be in good standing with the institution (financial, academic, and library).

To obtain the Bachelor's degree, the following is required:

  • Take and pass all the subjects of the study plan with a minimum grade of 71 points equivalent to a C.
  • Maintain a cumulative academic index of not less than one (1.0) on a scale of one to three (1 to 3).
  • Prepare, present, support the report of the Experiential Learning B (practice) subject, corresponding to 144 hours.
  • Take and pass one of the following degree option requirements:
  • Knowledge test.
  • specialization subjects
  • diplomat
  • Degree work (Prepare, support and approve a project in your area of knowledge).
  • Take a certification exam of a second language recognized by UNESCO, in accordance with internal regulations.
  • Be in good standing with the institution (financial, academic, and library).

 

Know:

  • He demonstrates a solid humanistic, scientific and technological training that allows him to contribute actively, critically and permanently to the social and educational change of the country and to the formation and development of a national and democratic-participatory consciousness.
  • It understands and assumes, in practice, a scientific educational conception, based on the philosophical-doctrinal foundations of professional action in Preschool Education.
  • It understands Preschool Education as part of the national social process, explaining its character, process and prospective development based on pedagogical theory, scientific research aimed at the production of theoretical-humanistic knowledge and technological resources.
  • Identifies, interprets and guides the comprehensive development of the child and its requirements, based on the mastery of current psychological, biological, anthropological and sociological theories as fundamental bases of educational work at the level of Preschool Education, depending on the characteristics of the child. .
  • It assimilates and disseminates the aesthetic values of universal and national human endeavor as a form of development of the humanistic-artistic aspect, which enables the integration of the child into their sociocultural environment.

Do:

  • It applies the methodology of educational management as a resource to raise the quality of the teaching-learning process and optimize the administrative processes of the institutions included in the Preschool Education level.
  • Plan the evolutionary activities to be carried out in the classroom and prepare the necessary material to develop them.
  • Develops skills and abilities in preschool children in the cognitive, procedural and attitudinal spheres.
  • Create study, eating and hygiene habits, guiding them in learning in these areas.
  • Facilitates the continuity of the development of abilities and skills of the child at home through guidance to parents.
  • It evaluates the child's level of learning, development of abilities, skills and adaptation to the environment, according to the parameters set in the instruments developed for such purposes.
  • Prepares newsletters on: children's performance, complementary activities, etc.
  • Plan and carry out activities: recreational, coexistence and/or complementary.
  • Detects behavioral and learning problems in the child and reports to parents, counselors, and medical personnel, as appropriate.
