The course on technical management of digital evidence within investigative processes arises to teach in a practical and case-by-case manner the appropriate way of handling, collecting and preserving evidence of a digital nature and its presentation and/or support in an eventual case. oral trial, generating a requirement for the training and constant updating of officials involved in the accusatory criminal process, and other areas of law that require technical management of evidence obtained in computer environments. This is why this course has been created in response to the need that arises in Panama to reinforce and complement the knowledge of professionals in the collection, acquisition, treatment and guarantees of authenticity of digital evidence and/or scene of events. virtual where punishable conduct occurred.
Whoever carries out the technical management of digital evidence within an investigative process must have the suitability and clarity of the technical procedures established and endorsed by the regulations in force in Panama, as well as international standards in the management of digital evidence.
Socialize, teach and provide theoretical, practical and technical concepts made known by international technical standards such as (ISO/IEC International Electrotechnical Commission, OAS, techno-scientific community among others), in order to develop a comprehensive vision of standardized procedures by of technicians and researchers in the management of digital evidence, through the construction of knowledge and approach to activities, ensuring that the principle of legality is guaranteed, which is enshrined in the universal framework of the constitution and law.
- Identifies and appropriates the main concepts and standardized procedures in the technical management of digital evidence through regulatory analysis and case studies.
- Internalizes, adopts and integrates the different technological tools for the technical management of digital evidence in accordance with national and international technical standards.
- Recognizes and reflects on the importance of the technical management of digital evidence in their environment, as well as the principles and guarantees of authenticity that should guide the investigative process.

To participate in the course, it is recommended that the participant have basic knowledge of Panamanian criminal legislation, as it relates to the adversarial criminal system and basic knowledge of office automation.
Taking into account that the course will be held virtually, the following aspects are important:
- Computer knowledge at the user level in video conferencing tools such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams.
- Management of office package tools such as Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Have your own email account and consult it regularly.
- Read the self-directed learning guides for participation in the different activities.
The Technical Management of Digital Evidence in Research Course is designed 100% online, which has been built so that participants (students, teachers, supervisors) can interact permanently and easily, which allows the appropriation and construction of knowledge.
The course has an intensity of 40 hours that will be carried out over a period of one (01) month, in which self-learning activities, collaborative work and synchronous sessions will be developed. Below is the program's schedule:

Synchronous 2 weekly meetings of 2 hours: 16 hours

This course will be developed by two teachers, Professionals, technicians in the areas of criminal investigation, digital evidence treatment, computer forensics and criminalistics, with certified experience in the field and training in technological tools for teaching.

The evaluation of the course is framed within a continuous evaluation of learning, where the participants, through the development of the proposed activities (workshops, questionnaires, forums, among others), can show the development of the expected results.
The learning activities that are proposed to the students will be accompanied by feedback from the tutor, in order to achieve the proposed objectives.
