Umecit – University in Panama

The 4th International Congress of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies of the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Panama will have as its central theme: "SCIENCE AND INNOVATION: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO GENERATE SOCIAL IMPACT".

Once again from face-to-face, our House of Studies invites the national and international academic and scientific community to participate in this 4th. International congress, where participants will have the opportunity to train and develop skills in research and innovation with specialists from Latin America and Europe. We will also have workshops, poster presentations and a special research fair atmosphere.

The event will contribute to promote the generation of scientific capacities through the exchange of experiences and knowledge in the field of research and innovation, where science becomes a means, not only to address environmental problems and provide answers to them, but also as the way to generate truly innovative proposals, aligned with the resources and alternatives offered by the digitalization era, within the framework of relevance and social impact.

We extend the invitation to the entire national and international academic community (teachers, researchers, students and the general public), as well as professionals linked to research in the public or private sphere, to be part of this professional enrichment experience, which It will have the participation of prominent international and national speakers who will contribute their knowledge and experiences in a learning and knowledge transfer scenario.

Forms of participation

There will be master lectures developed by international and national guests, as well as training workshops in research and innovation that will allow generating capacities for the construction of research designs with scientific rigor, based on a practical and dynamic experience. Participants can register as ASSISTANTS or SPEAKERS, in which case they can present advances or research results, only in the scientific poster modality (See link Presentations).

Roberto Hernandez Sampieri

Mexico

He has a degree in Communication Sciences, a specialist in Organizational Communication, a Master's in Administration, a Diploma in Consulting and a PhD in Administration. He has been distinguished with two honorary master's degrees and ten honorary doctorates in Mexico, Chile, Venezuela and Peru. Likewise, he is co-author of various books, among which are: "Research Methodology: Quantitative, Qualitative and Mixed Routes", "Research Methodology" (six editions, a book for which he received recognition on several occasions from McGraw- Hill as Outstanding Local Original), "Research Fundamentals", "Research Methodology" (three editions in Portuguese) and "Research Methodology for High School", among others. He has been National Award for Communication and Psychology in Mexico. He is currently director of the Research Center and coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Administration and Development at the University of Celaya, member of the CONACYT National System of Researchers, president of the Guanajuato College of Communication and referee of high-impact scientific journals in English and Spanish.

Alberto Antonio De Ycaza Diaz

Panama

Bachelor of Banking and Finance Administration. More than 20 years in Panamanian banking, in connection with local and international transactions, in different departments. More than 10 years working on the subject of entrepreneurship and innovation in the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation. Certified as a consultant for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship. Participation in the Workshop for Professionals of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Latin America. Various trainings from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) on the subject of invention patents and commercialization of science. Evaluator of entrepreneurship projects in different thematic areas, such as Information Technology and Telecommunications, Logistics and Transportation, Environment and Sustainable Development, Industry and Culture. In the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) he currently works as Director of the Directorate of Business Innovation and has held other positions such as Coordinator of entrepreneurship and innovation projects, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Business Innovation and Director in Charge of the Directorate of Business Innovation.

During his 15 years of experience as a university professor and researcher in undergraduate and graduate programs, he has taught subjects related to entrepreneurship, innovation, new business development, product validation, research proposal, business development, and strategic management, among others. . In the professional field, he has held relevant positions such as Director of the Business Administration Career and Coordinator of the Chair of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Private Technical University of Loja, Ecuador. Currently, he works as Coordinator of the UTPL Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Group and is a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor team (GEM Ecuador 2023). In addition, he represents UTPL as Delegate in the GUESSS 2023 project (Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey). He is an active member of various academic and professional networks and communities, including the Global Network of Entrepreneurship Educators (Babson College, USA), British Academy of Management (BAM, London, UK), StartupGrind Community (USA). Sergio Mendez Valencia

He has a degree in international trade and a master's degree in administration with a specialty in marketing from the University of Celaya, Mexico, the same institution where he obtained a PhD in Administration with a focus on finance. He has a postdoctoral degree awarded by the National Technological Institute. He has completed short studies at foreign institutions such as the BCC of the State University of New York, West Virginia University, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the School of Senior Management and Administration of the same Iberian city. Since 2005, he has been an undergraduate and postgraduate professor at different Mexican universities. He has collaborated on various books, chapters and scientific articles. Likewise, he has participated as a speaker and lecturer in various international congresses and events in Europe and Latin America. He was director of the Department of University Extension of the University of Celaya and coordinated the doctorates in Administration and Human Development. He has worked as a consultant and associate director in different research projects. In the social field, he served as alternate counselor of the Advisory Council of the Secretary of Social and Human Development of the State of Guanajuato. Since 2015 he has been a tenured professor at the University of Guanajuato where he coordinated the Master's in Business Studies, a postgraduate program recognized by the National Quality Postgraduate Program. He is currently a member of the National System of Researchers (CONACYT) and a professor with a desirable profile (PRODEP).

Christian Paulina Mendoza

PhD in Administration, specialty in Organizational Development. Member of various Research Networks and Editorial Scientific Committees in Latin America. Research Coordinator of the Radar Network in Latin America. Co-author of the works of McGraw-Hill: "Research Methodology for Baccalaureate" (two editions), "Fundamentals of Research Methodology" and "Research Methodology: Quantitative, Qualitative and Mixed Routes", as well as the Center of Online Resources of said works, in collaboration with Dr. Roberto Hernández-Sampieri. Several book chapters, articles and other scientific works on SMEs, Mypes, Marketing and Education have been published. She currently works as a professor of undergraduate and postgraduate research methodology in various higher education institutions, as well as a consultant for research projects for private and public companies.

Biologist. Magister in Biology from the Javeriana University of Colombia. PhD Candidate in Systems Engineering and Computing from the National University of Colombia. He has worked in university administrative management from technology directorates and research directorates at the Javeriana, Nacional and El Rosario universities of the Republic of Colombia. He has been a university professor of biochemistry and bioinformatics and has worked on national research projects such as the "Colombian Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics in Extreme Environments (GeBiX)" and the Scientific-Technological Alliance Nucleosensor-TB, in the research project "Bioperfiles of Mycobacterium tuberculosis identified through systems biology and high-throughput techniques useful in the design of nanosensors.” Linked to Elsevier for more than four years, in the "Research Intelligence" division, as a consultant for research management for the northern region of Latin America.
