Course Description
The Basic First Aid Course is part of the minimum training and basic safety instruction requirements for all seafarers, in accordance with Regulation VI/1, Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3 of the amended STCW '78 Convention and its STCW Code. It comprises 17 hours of theoretical and practical training.
- Avoid aggravating the victim's condition. Therefore, we will only do what we are absolutely sure of, through a series of simple medical procedures, urgent therapeutic measures applied to victims of accidents or sudden illnesses, intended to save a person's life in medical emergencies.
Apply the basic principles of first aid in the event of an accident or emergency situation on board the vessel, corresponding to Regulation VI/1, Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-3 of the amended STCW '78 Convention and its STCW Code.
Professionals in all disciplines related to the activities of the maritime cluster.
University professionals at the bachelor's or higher technical level, in maritime, port, and related fields.
Students and professionals from all areas who wish to expand their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the maritime port sector.
- Valid identification (ID for Panamanians / Passport for foreigners).
- Valid medical certificate (the certificate must be issued by a clinic authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority – AMP).
