Course Description
This course provides basic knowledge and maritime terminology used on a vessel.
It demonstrates the importance of the sailor as a junior officer on board a ship and how, through their duties, they can support navigation, loading, and maintenance operations.
In addition, it provides knowledge regarding onboard safety regulations so that tasks can be performed efficiently and safely.
To train participants in the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge related to the structure, operation, and maintenance of vessels, as well as in the proper use of maritime terminology, with the aim of enabling them to understand and efficiently perform the duties of ordinary seamen as subordinate personnel on board.
The course also aims to ensure that students apply the basic principles of navigation, meteorology, machinery, and maritime safety regulations, contributing effectively and safely to vessel operations, including loading, navigation, maintenance, and watchkeeping at sea.

- Valid identification (ID for Panamanians / Passport for foreigners).
- Valid medical certificate (The certificate must be issued by a clinic authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority – AMP).
