Course Description
The Leadership and Teamwork Course is aimed at managing and training on-board personnel, as well as compliance with maritime conventions and recommendations for the development, implementation and supervision of standard operating procedures, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation II/1, III/1, III/6, Section A-II/1, A-III/1, A-III/6 and Table A-II/1, A-III/1, A-III/6 of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, and its STCW Code.
- To provide participants with the necessary levels of knowledge, skills, and understanding in aspects related to leadership and teamwork, at the operational level aboard a ship.
Understand the concept of leadership and the importance of teamwork on a ship, and apply this knowledge to managing onboard personnel and various events that may arise to maintain a suitable work environment.
- Professionals in all disciplines related to the activities of the maritime cluster.
- University professionals at the bachelor's or higher technical level, in maritime, port, and related fields.
- Students and professionals from all areas who wish to expand their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the maritime port sector.
- valid identification (ID for Panamanians / Passport for foreigners).
- Valid medical certificate (The certificate must be issued by a clinic authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority – AMP).
- Provide evidence that you are taking or have taken training in accordance with Tables A-II/1, A-III/1 and A-III/6 of the STCW'78 Convention, as amended, and its STCW Code

- Introduction
- Training and professional knowledge of personnel management on board
Hourly intensity: 4.0 theoretical/practical hours
Module 2:
- Knowledge of international conventions, recommendations and national legislation
- Skills to implement work and manage workload
Hourly intensity: 4.0 theoretical hours
Module 3:
- Knowledge and ability to effectively use human resources
Hourly intensity: 7.0 theoretical/practical hours
Module 4:
- Knowledge and ability to apply decision-making techniques
Hourly intensity: 4.0 theoretical/practical hours
