Oriented towards the continuous expansion of a globalized world that every day becomes more connected, the cyber-humanism present in our institution seeks to encourage and strengthen interculturality through the Bachelor's Degree in English, training critical, creative, purposeful professionals, with a wide cultural background, directed towards technological and cultural internationalization, with a broad command of English that addresses the phonological, syntactic, morphological, semantic and lexical aspects of human communication.

The learning of the English language in our house of studies seeks that the student of the Bachelor's Degree in English obtains all the competences, communication, and pedagogical aptitudes in the Anglo-Saxon language through appropriate and relevant best practices that manage to reconcile effective and efficient communication in the daily, academic, and professional life of its students.

In the labor market, the Graduate in English presents himself as a versatile individual who is highly adaptable to the changing needs of an interconnected and globalized world, from bilingual translation in real time, specialized education at the school level, to international consultancies. Our graduate profile will allow you to work in the area of your interest with all the required agency and academic propriety.

The graduate in English will be able to carry out their professional activity in various fields, such as:

  • Schools and colleges at the primary and secondary levels.
  • Universities and Higher Education Centers.
  • Government and business sectors that use the English language to communicate (bilingual staff).
  • All those areas that require attention and bilingual communication both nationally and internationally.
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in any of its modalities.
  • Original and Copy of the Bachelor's degree in any of its modalities.
  • Photocopy of the Identification Card (Birth Certificate or Passport in case of being a foreigner).
  • Medical certificate of good health.
  • Original and Copy of the credits.
  • Two passport size photos
  • Fill out the application form to join the program.
  • Payment of registration fees.

Permanence in the University will depend solely and exclusively on the student, on his motivation, ability and vision to obtain the chosen academic degree, taking into account that his general average or cumulative index in his career cannot be less than 71, based on points maximum of 100.

In order to pass each course, the student must obtain a grade of no less than C and maintain an academic index of no less than 1.00. (Scale of 1 to 3.00).

No student will be able to continue in the course if he/she has a four-month cumulative index lower than 1.00.

Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of each course.

Given the characteristics of the institution, the student will be able to:

  • Study in teams and on your own.
  • Research in their areas of major importance.
  • Complement the knowledge they need.

Always be supported by the faculty.

The term of stay at the University will be: twelve quarters at least, for those who do not validate subjects.

However, it will be necessary to observe the following terms:

  • Respect for the University's Disciplinary Regulations.
  • Maintain up to date payments
  • Comply with a minimum of 71 percentage points in the different subjects and an academic index of not less than one (1).
  • Must attend 80% of the face-to-face meetings.
  • Punctual attendance at your events and academic sessions
  • Ethical and respectful conduct in the representations of the institution.
  • Verify that during the first year of study you are fluent (verbal and written) in English.
  • In case of prolonged absence, the student must present a justified excuse.
To obtain the Title of English Technician, the student must:
  • Take and pass all the subjects of the Technician's study plan with a minimum grade of 71 points.
  • Have an academic index of not less than one (1).
  • Be in peace and safe with the institution.
  • Carry out 80 hours of professional practice and present your report.
To obtain the Title of Bachelor's Degree in English, the student must:
  • Complete and pass the total number of subjects of the study plan with a minimum grade of 71 points.
  • Have an academic index of not less than one (1).
  • Satisfactorily complete the supervised professional internship.
  • Be in good standing with the institution.
  • Take and pass one of the following degree options: Specialization subjects, research project (thesis) or general knowledge test.

The Technician and Graduate in English from UMECIT, has the necessary skills to direct, apply, manage, administer all sectors of society using the English language, responding to the demands of the business world.

  • Support the local and transnational industry in bilingual and intercultural communication.
  • Identify and take actions based on the philosophical, psychological and cultural aspects that concern the acquisition, use and management of languages in different professional fields.
  • Read and identify scientific research reports (basic and applied), related to theoretical and applied linguistics, language acquisition and development, literary analysis and criticism, the language learning-teaching process, translation, and related fields .
  • Apply their linguistic, literary and professional knowledge to solving practical problems in the different fields of work that are detailed below.


Knowing:

  • Organize and lead working groups, for the scientific and aesthetic discernment of the English language.
  • Create and direct groups for the revision and correction of texts, for their publication.
  • Form and direct groups for writing production and literary analysis. Build, rebuild and apply knowledge of their specialty.
  • Know the theories and works that are linked to the disciplinary core (linguistic and literary), in order to recognize interdisciplinarity and comprehensive training, and that are part of other disciplines such as psychology, anthropology and sociology, as well as the pedagogical areas related to the teaching-learning of the English language.
  • Possess a solid linguistic training, especially in Modern Linguistics and its currents, which allows them to develop with suitability in the activities of their occupational field.
  • Apply the principles of Sociolinguistics and Psycholinguistics in the teaching-learning process in general and in particular of the English language.
  • Establish parallels and differences between Spanish and English.
  • Know the principles, methods and techniques of scientific research.
  • Apply the scientific method to linguistic problems.
  • Develop research practices related to the English language.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge about the application of modern technologies to the teaching-learning process of the English language.

Be:

  • Develop the ability to organize and manage work teams effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with responsibility, which implies being able to cope with the activities of their job without the need for strict supervision.
  • To perform, with competence, the pedagogical and research work in the native language and in the English language, with a view to the integral formation of the students.
  • Ability to venture into different work spaces that require translation.
  • Ability to serve as a spokesperson for companies and government agencies that need to communicate in different languages.
  • Vision to plan, design and evaluate study programs in the area of languages and multicultural education.
  • Learn and update constantly.
  • Ability to communicate accurately in writing and orally, in Spanish, English and other foreign languages.
