UMECIT offers you the opportunity to belong to the basketball team, which can be accessed by any member of our university community whose purpose is to represent the values, colors and philosophy of the University, having the possibility of competing in university tournaments held by the University Sports Association of Panama (ADEUPA), Panabasket, international competitions, among others.
Being part of this selection will not only grant you physical benefits, but also helps you learn, increases self-esteem, increases the feeling of belonging and solidarity.

- Have an updated and active accident policy (Applies only to students)
- Administrative and teaching staff (must sign liability release document)

Meet the coaches
of basketball
Enrique Grenal
Coach of the Panama Headquarters. He has had an outstanding career as both an athlete and a coach. As an athlete, he won a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in the Dominican Republic (1986) and participated in two World Cups (Brazil 1979 and Spain 1986) and the Pan American Games in Indiana (1987). As a coach, he coached at the World Cup in Japan (2006), at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Venezuela (1998) and Cartagena, Colombia (2006), and at the Bolivarian Games in Colombia (2005).
Luis Alberto Atencio Pérez
Coach of the Chitre Headquarters. is an experienced physical education teacher with more than two decades of service in the
Ministry of Education. His career includes roles as provincial physical education supervisor and coach in various sports disciplines, including swimming, volleyball, basketball and soccer.
