November in Panama is much more than a month on the calendar: it is the "Month of the Homeland." During this time, we proudly remember the historic events that forged our nation as a free and sovereign land. Red, white and blue adorn Panamanian streets and hearts in honor of the heroes and martyrs who fought bravely for the full sovereignty of our country.<\/p>\n

This month is highlighted by a series of important dates that commemorate the independence and separation of the isthmus, as well as the reverence for our national symbols: the flag, the shield and the national anthem.<\/p>\n

In the spirit of Homeland Month in Panama, we gratefully celebrate the history, determination and culture that have shaped our national identity. In honor of this significant occasion, we remember iconic events:<\/p>\n

November 3:<\/strong> The separation of Panama from Colombia is celebrated. This year we celebrate 120 years of the Republic of Panama, marking the beginning of a new era in its history.<\/p>\n

November 4th:<\/strong> It is a day to honor the sacred symbols of our nation: the flag, the shield and the anthem.<\/p>\n

November 5th: <\/strong>We commemorate the consolidation of the separation of Colombia in the Colonense territory.<\/p>\n

November 10:<\/strong> We remember the heroic cry of Independence from La Villa de los Santos in 1821, which was a crucial milestone in the emancipation of Panama.<\/p>\n

November 28:<\/strong> It is a momentous date, since the independence of Panama from Spanish domination is officially proclaimed. We remember with gratitude the emancipation process that marked the end of 300 years of colonial domination.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- joins all Panamanians in celebrating these important festivities, fostering a sense of responsible and respectful patriotism.
