Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology (UMECIT) reaffirmed its commitment to the scientific training of its students through an outstanding participation in the Scientific Initiation Day (JIC) 2026, organized by the Technological University of Panama (UTP) and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT).

For the second consecutive year of outstanding participation, UMECIT managed to position itself once again as the private university with the greatest representation in this important scientific event, with a total of 21 research projects from its different campuses, demonstrating the institutional reach of the strategies aimed at promoting research culture from the undergraduate level, which were developed by 49 students with the support of 19 teachers.

The projects presented corresponded to the careers of Criminalistics, Law, Medical Records, Preschool Education, Banking and Finance, Radiology, Environmental Management, Nursing, Marketing and Advertising and Psychology, reflecting the disciplinary diversity and the potential of research to address problems from different areas of knowledge.

Each of the proposals was the result of research processes developed with methodological rigor, critical thinking and academic commitment, under the guidance of teachers who assumed a fundamental role in the orientation and consolidation of the scientific work.

This participation represents a significant achievement for UMECIT, not only because of the number of projects submitted, but also because of the opportunity it provides students to share their findings, exchange experiences with researchers from other institutions, and strengthen essential skills for their professional and scientific development.

The institution extends special congratulations to all participating students and the teachers who accompanied these processes, recognizing their dedication, responsibility and commitment to relevant, rigorous research linked to the needs of society.

With these results, UMECIT continues to consolidate formative research as one of the pillars of its Neocyberhumanist educational model, promoting spaces where knowledge transcends the classroom and becomes an opportunity to contribute to the scientific, social and sustainable development of Panama.

    <section class="elementor-section
