{"id":136856,"date":"2026-09-11T14:35:55","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T19:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/umecit.edu.pa\/?p=136856"},"modified":"2026-09-11T14:37:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T19:37:21","slug":"umecit-chitre-inicia-fase-de-campo-de-investigacion-sobre-conservacion-de-aves-migratorias","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umecit.edu.pa\/en\/umecit-chitre-inicia-fase-de-campo-de-investigacion-sobre-conservacion-de-aves-migratorias\/","title":{"rendered":"UMECIT Chitr\u00e9 begins field phase of research on migratory bird conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"136856\" class=\"elementor elementor-136856\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a396382 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default row-top\" data-id=\"a396382\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3161a1c9 column-style-top\" data-id=\"3161a1c9\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4fe7300a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4fe7300a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>With the firm purpose of contributing to the protection of local ecosystems and promoting conservation actions based on scientific evidence, UMECIT Chitr\u00e9 Headquarters formally initiated the field phase of the research entitled \u201cImpact of the socio-environmental activities of the communities of El Ret\u00e9n and El Agallito on the conservation of the migratory bird route\u201d.<\/p><p>The collection of data and application of scientific instruments officially began on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the El Ret\u00e9n area, with the participation of the research team.<\/p><p>The study aims to analyze how the daily, economic and socio-environmental activities of the inhabitants of these communities can influence the conservation of habitats that serve as a refuge and passage zone for thousands of migratory birds that visit the region each year.<\/p><p>El Ret\u00e9n and El Agallito are part of areas of special importance within the biological corridor of the Bay of Parita, so understanding the relationship between community dynamics and the conservation of these spaces is fundamental to promoting biodiversity protection strategies.<\/p><p>Through surveys, interviews, and field observations, the research team will gather information that will generate knowledge about the socio-environmental reality of these communities and contribute community conservation proposals based on scientific evidence.<\/p><p>The research seeks to contribute to a sustainable balance between local development, the well-being of communities and the protection of biodiversity, recognizing the fundamental role of residents and local actors in the conservation of ecosystems.<\/p><p>UMECIT is calling on residents, community leaders, and local groups in El Ret\u00e9n to collaborate during the research team&#039;s visits. Active community participation is essential for the successful development of this project and for generating results that will benefit both the natural environment and the quality of life of the
