By observing these processes, they were able to understand the importance of implementing strategies and technologies focused on the responsible management, treatment, recycling, and disposal of waste.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The day also provided opportunities for reflection on the impacts that inadequate waste management can have on the environment and public health, as well as on the need to promote sustainable practices that contribute to the protection of natural resources.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, the visit represented an opportunity to strengthen observation, analysis and research skills, providing students with information and experiences that can serve as a reference for future academic work, projects and research related to environmental management and sustainability.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From an outreach and social responsibility perspective, this activity contributed to strengthening environmental awareness and the commitment of future professionals to current environmental challenges. Furthermore, it fostered closer ties between academia and organizations involved in environmental management, highlighting the importance of cooperation in promoting sustainable initiatives.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These types of experiences are part of UMECIT&#039;s commitment to an education that transcends the classroom and integrates teaching, research and outreach, providing students with tools to understand and face the challenges of their environment from a professional, responsible and sustainable
