Each project demonstrated the students&#039; commitment to critical analysis, innovation, and finding solutions to problems in their communities.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event featured a virtual presentation by Dr. Diana Esperanza Carmona, a research professor at the University of Caldas (Colombia), who shared insights on the importance of research in professional development. Her presentation motivated students to continue developing projects that contribute to community development and strengthen their academic growth.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Featured projects<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the event, the three projects best rated by the judging panel were recognized:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First place: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forensic graphological analysis of suicide notes: patterns of hopelessness and final decision-making<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developed by Yajanis Santizo, Keny Ramos and Karol Cama\u00f1o, from the Bachelor&#039;s Degree in Criminalistics and Forensic Sciences, under the tutelage of Professor Sindy Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second place: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chronic kidney failure: its impact on the quality of life of older adults in Veraguas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presented by Marilin Rodr\u00edguez, Samuel Mu\u00f1oz and Margarita Atencio, from the Bachelor&#039;s Degree in Medical Records and Health Statistics, with the guidance of teacher Conny Vargas.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third place: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The role of the Social Worker in the educational guidance of students with special needs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, prepared by Mar\u00eda C\u00e1ceres, Diana P\u00e9rez and Kristel Rosas, from the Bachelor&#039;s Degree in Social Work, under the tutelage of Professor Karina Ledezma.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment to comprehensive education<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through this event, UMECIT reaffirms its commitment to a comprehensive education that integrates teaching, research, and outreach as pillars of academic development. The projects presented demonstrate that our students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also transform it into proposals with social impact, aligned with the real needs of their communities.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UMECIT continues to strengthen the research culture as an essential part of its educational model, promoting the generation of knowledge
