November is a deeply significant month for all Panamanians. It is a time to reflect on our history, pay tribute to those who forged the nation, and proudly celebrate the values that define us as a free and sovereign people.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0The Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology -UMECIT- joins in this commemoration, reaffirming its commitment to the formation of citizens who honor the homeland through education, ethics and service.<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>November 3rd<\/b> we celebrate the <\/span>Separation of Panama from Colombia (1903)<\/b>This historic event marked the birth of our Republic. This day symbolizes the determination and courage of those who dreamed of an independent nation and worked to make it a reality.<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>November 4th<\/b>Day of the <\/span>National Symbols<\/b>We pay tribute to our flag, coat of arms, and national anthem. Each of these emblems embodies the essence of our identity and reminds us of the importance of keeping our love for our country alive.<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>November 5<\/b> we commemorate the <\/span>Consolidation of independence in the city of Col\u00f3n<\/b>, an event that secured the newly obtained freedom and reaffirmed the unity of the Panamanian people around the ideal of sovereignty.<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>November 10th<\/b> we remember the <\/span>First Cry of Independence in La Villa de Los Santos (1821)<\/b>This act of courage ignited the spark of freedom from Spanish rule. This movement culminated in the <\/span>November 28th<\/b>, with the <\/span>Independence of Panama from Spain<\/b>, bringing an end to three centuries of colonial life.<\/span><\/p>

During this month of national pride, <\/span>UMECIT<\/b> invites its entire university community and the country at large to celebrate with civic pride, respect, and gratitude, honoring the history that unites us and inspiring us to build together a <\/span>A more just, dignified and prosperous Panama<\/b> for future generations.<\/span><\/p>
