data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The fourth training day of the Social Outreach Project concluded with great enthusiasm. <i>Golden Age<\/i>, developed at the UMECIT La Chorrera headquarters and aimed at the first group of older adult beneficiaries.<\/p><p>This event focused on strengthening participants&#039; knowledge and skills on topics essential to their well-being and safety, integrating theoretical and practical learning spaces with great community value.<\/p><p>Highlights of the activities included:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Occupational Safety in the Field of Older Adults<\/b>, taught by Professor G\u00e9nesis S\u00e1nchez, who shared prevention and self-care measures to promote safer environments.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Use of Medicinal Plants<\/b>, taught by biologist and professor Prof. Libardo Mart\u00ednez, where the benefits, applications and precautions in the responsible use of plants with medicinal properties were addressed.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>First Aid Workshop<\/b>, facilitated by the SINAPROC team, who provided instruction in fundamental techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), choking care, and basic procedures for dealing with unconscious people.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p>These trainings not only strengthen the autonomy of our older adults, but also foster a culture of self-care, prevention, and community solidarity.<\/p><p><b>Impact on the substantive functions of UMECIT<\/b><\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Teaching<\/b>: Significant learning was promoted beyond the classroom, adapted to the needs of older adults, reaffirming the importance of ongoing training.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Research<\/b>: Knowledge derived from previous studies was integrated and traditional practices were collected that could feed into future academic projects.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Extension<\/b>: The university reaffirmed its commitment to the community, expanding knowledge and resources that positively impact the quality of life of the older adult population.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Management<\/b>: The successful coordination with teachers, strategic allies such as SINAPROC, and the logistical support of the La Chorrera headquarters demonstrated efficient and committed management.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p>The culmination of this event demonstrates how UMECIT comprehensively articulates its substantive functions, consolidating its commitment to being a transformative, inclusive university serving
