This training activity was coordinated by the <\/span><b>University Agreements Department<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and was developed under the supervision of the team of <\/span><b>Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Fourth Bridge Consortium<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The central purpose of this visit was <\/span><b>strengthen practical knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of students through the <\/span><b>direct observation of security measures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> implemented in a high-risk megaproject. The experience allowed the integration of classroom theory with the real-world demands of the workplace, providing an invaluable opportunity for the professional development of future occupational safety experts.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the tour, the students had the opportunity to learn about the different work fronts of the project and observe in detail:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accident prevention strategies<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Signaling of critical areas<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entry control systems to the work area<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other essential aspects of industrial safety management were also addressed, such as:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solid waste management<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emergency and contingency plans<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environmental monitoring<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preventive maintenance of heavy machinery<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the highlights of the tour was the <\/span><b>direct exchange with the project&#039;s HSE area professionals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who shared with the students their experience and knowledge about the <\/span><b>Operating protocols, technological tools, and everyday challenges<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which involves ensuring safe working conditions in a technical and regulated context.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, an open dialogue space was created in which students could ask questions, express their concerns, and share their thoughts on the implementation of safety management systems on large-scale projects.
