Originating from territories in Bocas del Toro, Chiriqu\u00ed and Veraguas, the region is home to the indigenous Ng\u00e4be and Bugl\u00e9 ethnic groups, as well as peasant communities.<\/p><p>The creation of the Comarca was a response to the threats of exploitation of natural resources and environmental degradation, demonstrating the union and political pressure of indigenous people in search of a sustainable environment that respects their rights.<\/p><p><strong>Mission and Vision of the Government of the Ng\u00e4be-Bugl\u00e9 Region<\/strong><\/p><p>The Government, in collaboration with the Regional Coordination Council, guides and coordinates plans, programs and projects for the comprehensive development of the Region. Its vision is to be a technical organization that guarantees the execution of objectives to improve the quality of life of the population.<\/p><p><strong>Cultural Celebration: Parade in Honor of 27 Years<\/strong><\/p><p>To commemorate this milestone, the Ng\u00e4be-Bugl\u00e9 Student Association of the University of Panama organizes a cultural parade on Saturday, March 16. The Mayor&#039;s Office of Panama, through the Directorate of Ethnicities, joins this celebration, recognizing the importance of preserving national identity. The parade, which begins at the Parador Fotoogr\u00e1fico Panam\u00e1 in the Cinta Costera, will culminate in Urrac\u00e1 Park with expressions of native art, dances and sales of crafts starting at 3:00 pm<\/p><p>Join us to celebrate the diversity, cultural heritage and achievements of the Ng\u00e4be-Bugl\u00e9 Comarca.
