Umecit – University in Panama

Closing of the Black Ethnicity Month- UMECIT

UMECIT closes the month of Black Ethnicity with nationwide activities that contribute to the objective of the Inclusive Education Program attached to University Welfare, as a significant sign of commitment to diversity and equality.

This time allowed the entire community an opportunity to recognize and value the culture, history and contributions of the Afro-descendant community by carrying out activities involving students, teachers and collaborators. This is how UMECIT demonstrates its inclusive approach and its desire to generate a positive impact on all stakeholders.

These initiatives help foster awareness and understanding of ethnic diversity, promote equal opportunities and improve coexistence in the university environment. They also provide spaces for dialogue, reflection and learning about the history, challenges and achievements of the Afro-descendant community.

We are confident that these activities have been of joy, empathy, courage and respect; in addition to continuing to promote inclusive education and diversity in its university community.

During this time, the entire community had the opportunity to recognize and value the culture, history and contributions of the Afro-descendant community through various activities in which students, teachers and collaborators participated. These actions reflect UMECIT's inclusive approach and its desire to generate a positive impact on all stakeholders.
